Juneteenth Festival Inc. partnered with I AM YOUTH, Inc. to support its 3rd Annual Backpack Giveaway, held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at JFK Park. The event was a great success, providing local youth and families with essential back-to-school resources while creating a fun, positive, and welcoming community environment. A total of 240 backpacks were distributed to youth. Each backpack was filled with school supplies as well as hygiene products, helping families prepare their children for the new school year with both educational and personal-care essentials. Participants expressed their gratitude for the backpacks and were especially appreciative of the addition of hygiene products. In addition to the backpack distribution, more than 300 people were fed, with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks provided throughout the event. Families and youth also enjoyed music, bounce houses, football and basketball games, and other opportunities to interact and enjoy the day together.
